Born and raised in Oregon, Scott is a lifelong learner and educator passionate about creativity, inquiry, and exploration. He has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States with students and has taken great joy in witnessing small-town teenagers learn to navigate their way in foreign countries and recognize how large and accessible the world is to them. After spending thirty years teaching high school English and theatre as well as running the school's theatre program, Scott closed the curtain on his "Act 1", packed his things, and struck out for Manhattan to explore his "Act 2" in a city that has always felt like home.  

Scott's years in public education and educational theater have led him to polish his organizational, communication, leadership, and instructional skills. He has served on both state and national Boards of Directors for educational theatre non-profits while serving the diverse needs of high school learners. He is no stranger to a tight budget, producing hundreds of shows with limited funds and always turning a profit while at the same time building a strong audience following. His students have achieved individual greatness, from practicing law and medicine to owning their businesses while pursuing their passions. A few of them are even here in Manhattan, making their way into the theatre business.

Scott spends as much time as he can exploring the uniqueness of neighborhoods from Inwood to the Financial District. He enjoys walking the neighborhoods, finding quaint coffee shops or delicious family-owned eateries, and discovering the local culture of each neighborhood. He is a proponent of "looking up" when walking and is constantly amazed at the artistry of the architecture of Manhattan's buildings.

His decades of scenic design, playing with colors, textures, spaces, and styles, have contributed to his love of design, and he thrives when he approaches décor through both a designer's lens and a consumer's interest.
